Hoa Binh - Towards high-quality community-based cultural and ecological tourism

Hoa Binh has a long-standing culture, once being the cradle of the ancient Vietnamese people, Hoa Binh culture is famous for 4 Muongs: Bi, Vang, Thang Dong. The Thai, Mong, and Dao ethnic groups have distinct cultural features that create diverse and rich cultural nuances, many unique folk festivals imbued with ethnic cultural identities. Hoa Binh has 4 nature reserves (NR) namely Ngoc Son - Ngo Luong, belonging to Tan Lac and Lac Son districts; Thuong Tien Nature Reserve (Kim Boi); Hang Kia - Pa Co Nature Reserve, Mai Chau district; Pu Canh Nature Reserve, Da Bac district has rich flora and fauna, which is a great potential for ecotourism development.

In particular, Hoa Binh has the Da river lake area, which is the largest artificial lake in Southeast Asia with charming natural scenery, approved by the Prime Minister of the National Tourism Development Master Plan (DLQG). Accordingly, Hoa Binh lake is 1/12 key national tourism zones of the Northern midland and mountainous region. Mai Chau is also identified as a national tourist destination. In addition, in the province, there are 296 historical, cultural, and scenic sites that are managed and protected, of which more than 70 caves contain archaeological sites of Hoa Binh culture, 42 National monuments and 27 provincial relics are being restored and embellished. A number of relics are becoming tourist attractions such as the complex of Tien pagoda relics, Chi Ne Plantation relics and the first money printing factory of the revolutionary government in Lac Thuy district; archaeological site of Trai hamlet, Lac Son district; cultural and historical relics of Thac Bo temple, Da Bac district... The province has paid attention to preserving tangible and intangible cultural values, organizing the restoration and development of unique cultural values. In which, many famous festivals are held at the beginning of the new year such as: Tien Pagoda Festival, Muong Bi Khai Ha Festival, Bo Temple Festival, Xen Muong Festival...

Over the years, the province has implemented many guidelines and policies to manage and exploit natural resources, develop tourism types, make an important contribution to economic restructuring and improve people's lives. In the province, various tourist spots and areas have been formed to better meet the needs of domestic and foreign tourists.
